We jumped at the chance this year to source Riesling grapes from the established Anne Amie Vineyard in the Yamhill Carlton District of the Willamette Valley. This delicate dry Riesling has a lemon citrus nose that continues onto the palate. Flavors of citrus, white peach and candied lemon peel persist with just a hint of residual sugar to balance the ribbon of acidity that runs throughout this wine. A bit of skin contact early on added to the rich texture and balance of the wine. Great for your summer aperitif or even better with food!
VINEYARD
Our focus is on single vineyard grapes from cool sites which we believe have the potential to make the utmost stellar wines in all of Oregon. Anne Amie Vineyard is located in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA.
WINE MAKING
The grapes were handpicked in late October and macerated in the press overnight, then pressed whole cluster into a temperature controlled stainless tank. The juice cool fermented for 2 months at 52 degrees. Toward the end of fermentation we tasted this wine daily to stop the fermentation at the exact time in order to achieve the acid/sugar balance we desired. The wine then aged sur lie at 30 degrees, was clarified and then racked in preparation for bottling in early March.
